First of all, Delap wasn’t bought as the main striker. He is a young, physical striker who was bought for a reasonable price. It was a no brainer to pay £30m for Delap and a lot of other Premier League clubs also wanted him. So please stop talking rubbish about Delap. If you wanted a world-class striker you should have simply brought in Osimhen.

Any manager who came in after Maresca left knew the deal. This is a high pressure job, and the expectations were top 5 and a deep UCL run. None of these targets are unrealistic (as evidenced by the Barcelona and PSG (CWC final) games, and I would add Bayern as well we weren’t that bad at the Allianz) given the quality of our squad.
I will not accept any agenda driven scapegoating until the end of the season. This club should and must make it to the top 5. End of the fucking story.

We’ve seen at Ipswich he’s able to play in a transitional team but he needs to learn how to be a box striker, he’s got the attributes for it but he’s simply just not ready yet to be playing for Chelsea.
