I work at Barça and earlier today, on my way to the Palau for the FCB hockey match, I came across this tent/structure that has been set up for the club’s presidential elections taking place this Sunday, March 15, 2026. It looks like this is where part of the voting process will be organized.
With the main candidates being Laporta and Font, I was curious to hear what people here on r/Barca think about the situation. Do you expect the election to be very close, or do you think one candidate will win quite comfortably? I'm interested in hearing how competitive you think this race will be and what the general expectations are among fans.

  1. I think Barcelona socis are literate enough to see through Font’s populism. He’s based his entire campaign on slander, and empty promises that don’t help the club. He’s clueless about Femení. Bartomeu supports him which should say a lot.

I’d be surprised if he breaks over 35%

I think the election will be closer than we think. But Laporta should eventually prevail. Font probably hurt his chances more with the Barto comments and endorsement

The performances of the team always outweighs any other factor. Flick’s team is winning and popular, so Laporta has a huge advantage.

The financial concerns and allegations of unprofessional management may weigh against Laporta somewhat (they cost him in the past), but I don’t know if Font ran a strong enough campaign. This time, like last time, he seemed to be much more of a businessman than a politician.

I think Laporta takes it with some margin: 60%-40%

  4. Laporta will win this election no doubt but the discrepancies in his administration can’t be ignored.

Not enough professionals running the things

Font is like Pierre Pollievre. Popular and stood a chance at winning the Canadian elections first but then dug his own grave with cheap shots and jabs rather than actual policies.

Laporta is gonna win by a landslide like I would guess around 60%+

My problem is that the other 30% who are voting for Font or others , it’s pretty much a fracture divided Barcelona

I just don’t understand why would you not support the guy who took the club when it was at rock bottom TWICE and bring it back to prominence.
