  1. Really interesting listen. Desmond running us like he is the sole owner is mind blowing.

  2. Not really saying anything that most informed fans don’t already know, but it’s good to hear neutral’s confirming the state of things.

Some key points from this chat. Would recommend any Celtic supporter to have a listen.

Celtic relative to revenue (150-160m) spend around 20% on wages. Regarded as very low. For comparison spurs spend 30% on wages and is thought of as the lowest % wise in the EPL.

TV generated revenue is worth approximately £4m to Celtic. The tv deal for Scotland is the same as the English premier RUGBY league deal. Celtics revenue is equal to lower English premier league teams, which relies heavily on the Sky tv money. He reckons if Celtic had access to Sky money revenue would be closer to £1/2 billion per season once inflated sponsorship factored in.

Celtics revenue is generated from match going fans and merchandise. Low TV deal. Celtic run at a profit therefore no need for a billionaire who doesn’t put a penny into the club. Club would be attractive to a new buyer due to the profit it makes. The money the board sits on is therefore Celtic supporters money that’s not been invested in the club. One of the guys trying to take back control is David Low(e)? Who worked with Fergus to stabilise the club in the 90s. Trying to organise shareholders to chase out DD.

Thinks the executives could invest the money to compete the stadium and buy smaller clubs to help facilite youth / scouting network. Estimates the club could have a stadium of 80k. Currently 50k season ticket holders with another 10k on the waiting list.

Finished with saying Hearts winning would ultimately benefit Celtic as the fury would cause fundamental change at board level. Which I agree with. Celtic is a reactive club and the only way we can reach our potential is by chasing out the goons in charge after hearts win.
