"Despite this, it is naive to believe Emery would not be attracted by the United job if he felt they really wanted him.

There will come a point in his Villa career – just like Eddie Howe at Newcastle United – where he will be asking himself how much further he can take the club. Villa and Newcastle fans are right to hope for ultimate success under their brilliant manager, but the financial reality suggests otherwise. No matter how well Villa or Newcastle do, United and others can spend mega millions in one summer transfer window and leapfrog them. It means Villa are always trying to punch above their weight, which they are managing to do once more this season."

Rage bait shite designed to get clicks from annoyed villa fans. The best way to stop this rubbish from being written is to just ignore it.

He’s not going to any English club that isn’t City or maaaybe Liverpool.

The only club that I feel threatened by that can poach Unai in the near future is Atletico.

His opinion is as welcome as spit in a child’s face, which is also something he seems keen to provide.

I’ve got £50 with my mate that says Emery is still in charge next season.

Carragher knows fuck all about how Emery operates. He would never go near Man Utd as he likes to have a lot of control.

Stick to spitting in kids ya wanker.

I think he’d have a miserable time there. Managers even more than players are horses for courses. I just feel that we are exactly the right type of club for him

In saying that I do think Emery’s head might be turned eventually but not by that bin fire at Old Trafford.

In any functioning society, newspapers and TV broadcasters would refuse to pay money for this kind of ‘insight’ and ex-players like Carragher would be running a flat roofed pub somewhere and boring the regular with their stories…
