That poor euros that he had destroyed his confidence, he hasn’t been the same player ever since.

Get ready to learn Evertonese, buddy.
But on a serious note, I think he just stopped putting in the work after reaching his peak form.

I wonder if something is wrong in his personal life and he’s lost focus. Desperately hope he turns it around and that the club and fans have patience with him.

I think there are multiple reasons for this. One is obviously that his private life has taken some drastic turns in the last two years and so he is distracted. Another is that he doesn’t have any role models left in the club for him and out of the blue is asked to replace them, but not only is it impossible to replace a role model like KDB or David Silva, the second you can’t consistently live up to this expectation your own confidence gets thrown into the trash. Of course the Euros haven’t done shit to improve his confidence either.
But the biggest reason I think for his drop off is City selling Alvarez. Those two seemed like best friends to me. They celebrated together, talked together, deviced strategies together, it just feels like that after Julian left Foden lost his mate in the team and so his motivation IMO. And I actually said exactly that to my friends when Julian left.

Ok but one thing I don’t understand is how he has gone from being Pep’s fav child to someone pep cant trust… like Haaland (I know its not fare to compare but just to prove my point) has also had a dip in form and hasn’t scored in a long time… Bernardo hasn’t done anything significant in months … but they dont get dropped (Marmoush has been so much better than haaland) … but Foden doesnt score/assist for 3 games, he is dropped form the team… like c’mon he isn’t a teenager anymore that he has to prove he is good enough to be in the team… and then they say he isnt consistant enough…like how do you expect him to be consistant when he has to be under the pressure of performing every match or else you get dropped… if he doesnt score in 3 matches maybe he will score on his 4th match, he is a midfielder not a forward… and if he is not match active after not playing for 10 matches straight, they blame him… plus his personal life has been shit too… man can’t catch a break… at this point i wouldnt be surprise if he chose to go to spain or germany for some love

The guy is not well. Physically or mentally. The weight loss from 2024 has been a bit scary. Have heard lots of noise from lots of disconnected people that he’s been struggling with IBD – or related conditions. All the talk of “brain fog” and depression in the press last season masked that, in the same articles, Foden’s team were asked about Phil’s physical health problems but refused to comment beyond saying he had been having health issues.

It’s very simple. He has peaked. Not gonna get any better after 2024 and that’s sad.

It’s probably physical and athleticism issues. Bro looks like a twig and we know his skill is not the issue
