      Emery is determined to just play this team back into form isn’t he. Even though we’ve rarely convinced with this system all season; we picked up many wins without ever really looking like deserving winners

      Bailey was at least so offensive to the eyes in the last game at least Sancho got brought back in.

      But I wanna see him back on the left in his best position.
      Yet I know if McGinn comes on to play RM ittl just be Sancho he’s always the first one hooked regardless.

      I really am over with seeing Buendia and Watkins though. Every single game putting in 3/10’s with no repercussions

      Unpopular opinion – I’m not too bothered starting Watkins – but if Unai doesn’t put Abraham in at 60min and waits until 80min, I’ll be furious.

      I NEED to see something from those two in midfield today.

      The hope was minutes on the pitch would help them gel but theyve maybe actually gotten worse the longer theyve played together.

      If they get out fought in the middle, game is done

      id imagine in possession Bogarde will slot into a holding mid, and Konsa will slide right. Pau’s passing when we are in mid should be handy and his lack of pace wont be as big an issue as in the league. If this means Dougie can get forward a little more all the better.

      Sancho and Maatseh has have two of our ‘most in form’ of late – so kinda suprised Maatsen doesnt start. and Buendia needs a rest and to think about what hes dont lately, Digne for the crosses for the 1st hour maybe?

      Id take a draw and do it back at VP.

      We all got mad when the same team kept heing played early on into the season, then that same team went on a 13 game winning streak. So I can’t keep getting pissed off about it.

      But man….I really don’t have confidence in these lineups, and haven’t done for weeks.

      In before the summer when Tammy is like ‘Nah, I’m out, fuck this. I want to play games, not spend 70-80 minutes at a time sat on a bench watching someone not score goals.’

      It really does baffle me, I love Ollie for what he has done in the past. Last year his goal scoring dipped some but his hold up play was still excellent. It was always have Ollie run the defence ragged then on comes our sub to rip them apart and score a goal or two.

      This year he doesn’t even do that as much as he did. Our sub comes on with 20 mins to go against a pair of defenders who’ve had barely anything to do all game.

      Yes, the argument could be made that the service to Ollie hasn’t been good enough. That doesn’t change the fact that, in this season, if Ollie is one on one with a goalie, he will probably shoot the ball directly at said goalie. His confidence is shot, he is getting older and he is a shadow of what he was 2 years ago.

      Malen scored more goals for Villa than Ollie this season, so we sold him. Since tammy has joined he has scored 2 goals but not from a massive amount of game time, Ollie has scored 0 in the same period of time but with significantly more minutes. In fact Ollie’s last goal for us was 2 days before Tammy rejoined us.

      If Tammy had started a game or two in the last couple of weeks and not scored, I might be more open to an Ollie start, but we have a guy who simply can’t buy a goal right now starting week in, week out. And a guy who can score sat on the bench then given 15-20 minutes to try and turn the game around.

      I’d rather see Buendia and Ollie on the bench. But it is what it is.

      Hoping this match gives us a chance to pick up form. Just gonna try to find some positivity and cheer on the boys.

      yikes he’s done it again… at least SJM is back in the squad!

      hope we get elliott minutes as well. we should be playing him in the EL if the news about it not counting towards his appearances is true
