The average fan doesn’t understand what these rehabs can be like. It is as mentally taxing as it is physically taxing. He clearly loves the game, and every time he gets fit, it’s ripped from him again. At a certain point, you have to imagine it is hard to keep going back. You guard yourself from losing the game again against your own will, so you take over the decision-making and step off.
I know I should not be angry but we extended him, gave him a big contract and his Manager a lot of money. Other players also demanded his wage and we also had to pay. And he is out for almost a year now and there is a Chance he will retire all because of a game he played for fing canada?

Probably fake news until there’s an actual interview where he states that. This is a muscle injury, gets better in weeks, it’s not even an ACL or fracture. He’s probably depressed AF but to go from that to “retirement”, this is just cruel.
