  1. I saw him just before in the box just before Palmer’s attempt and I was like : “be careful of the counter” and then boom!

when the turnover happened, Chalobah jumped in to try to win the ball. absolutely fucking braindead.. you have to understand your job as a defender isn’t to do that and is to try and get back in numbers before PSG can swarm you… sold the rest of the defense with that. Fofana did really well in the situation and of course Jorgensen can’t keep anything out and was rooted to his line giving Dembele the whole goal to aim for instead of narrowing the angle like Sanchez would’ve done

The most frustrating thing is 12-18moths ago palmer Burries that and the game looks completely different.

  4. Some of the goals today would have been saved by Sanchez. There’s no denying he’s a far better shot stopper.

  5. Tbf, he’d made a lunging tackle before this and missed his target.

I’m not excusing this however, if anything it’s school boy errors. You’re being hit on the counter and you do not have enough defensive cover- you absolutely should not be going in for a tackle right now.

Get back, wait for defensive support and try to give the player less running options.

Amateurish defending at the top level of the game.

  6. Chalobah, like against the mighty Josh King, went to try to win the ball back higher up. Feels like Fofana wasn’t aware because he was really trying to get back ASAP. Fofana does well to get back and Cucurella does a good job of covering the runner to the far post. But my god Fofana is so easily beaten in 1v1s

I’m not sure if I’m just being overly critical, but Jorgensen’s save attempt on this goal too wasn’t the best either much like on the other PSG goals, not sure why he’s trying to save it with his feet. So many goals this game that genuinely make you question if the shot was saveable :/

  8. Chalobah gets away with mad shit just because he come from Youth and they wanted to sell him, So was Mount, and when Mount was here he was actually a good player but the fanbase are crackheads.

You will never win a prem with Chalobah as one of your main CBs. You need consistency to win, bad players will never give you any sort of consistency. Not in the good way anyway. Why the fuck is a CB that fucking high up. We are against PSG ffs not Spurs. We should always have at least 3 the furthest back

It’s almost like this is how we play and it’s usually Fofana making that play and it resulting in the same way, just not being punished because it’s not against one of the best counterattacking teams in the world. Keyboard tacticians just love giving their two cents but neglecting to acknowledge any patterns in our play match to match like you’ve got amnesia.

This actually pissed me off the most, because it was a brain dead move to gamble for the ball that high up the pitch. Chalobah’s a good defender but Chelsea will go nowhere if he remains our best option in defence, we need good AND experienced defenders. A Terry or Thiago Silva would never make such a mistake.

  11. This guy is truly incredible. His positioning is generally so bad that he ends up far away from the goal scorer so casuals think he isn’t responsible.

He cannot be anything more than CB4 next season and hopefully Fofana and Sarr start important games the rest of the season.

  12. Our best CB pairing potentially is Sarr-Colwill. Chalobah is a decent backup at best he has no right starting for us every week if we ever want to win the league/ucl again. Fofana is a good defender but for his wage you’d expect a Terry-esque level performance and just too expensive to be a backup. Acheampong is talented but very inexperienced and it shows on the pitch. Tosin and Badiashile can leave. That leaves Anselmino and Disasi fighting for the backup spot and I doubt the latter would ever want to stay after how the club treated him.
