  1. Rosenior full post-match presser https://youtu.be/l8NZ_yvdrNk?si=VBAqq1bSK2gwsnqE

    TLDW

    – Felt happy with the performance for “much of the game”. Last 20 minutes “crazy”. Said we weren’t calm in the moment, himself included

    – Stands by Jorgensen decision. Mistakes “part of football”

    – Feels it’s on him to find the solution to help the team feel calm in the moment

    – Said even at 4-2, felt we were still in it but we’ve made it difficult for ourselves at 5-2. “Very close to being an outstanding team”

    – Feels our goalkeepers have different qualities. Trying to win both short-term and long-term. Thought Filip was calm in possession vs Aston Villa

    – Was not aware the team sheet had leaked before the game

    – On what needs to improve: maintain calm during setbacks. Says this has been the focus since the beginning and takes the blame as he hasn’t improved that aspect

    – Believes the fourth goal is where things got unstable. Says the shot was unsaveable

    – Says Jorgensen took the blame afterwards in the dressing room

That reporter was trolling him and I love her for it. Might as well have asked “What do you do now, you ruined both keepers?”

  3. Painful in that moment? What about the other 2 fucking goals he fucked up with? Guys a clown.

repeating the errors of Lampard. put in a keeper who wasn’t good enough to keep us competitive and destroyed the confidence of a more than capable keeper who was clear first choice. I hope Rob is made of tougher stuff than Kepa because it took a full 2 years for him to climb out of that hole.

  5. Man.

Anything other than I got it wrong as an answer for tonight’s loss is bullshit on Liam’s part. Laughably naive decisions he made for the game.

  6. Managers aren’t managers anymore, they’re journalists and mouthpieces. Game is so gone. Absolutely generational waffler lmao

  7. dont let jorgensen being the worst keeper of all time make you forget that they disallowed a goal for offsides then used the wrong player to measure the lines.

  8. Oh look a yes man who cheerleads until we fail badly and talent leaves. Can we get a proven manager in?

the philosophy of trying to beat a high press using your goalkeeper is great and everything but does he know you need actually competent and good players for that to work? neither of the keepers are good enough to play like that and none of our CBs are either. he needs to change the gameplan because the players we have at the back are never gonna make this work.

  10. Rosenior is going through the exact same process as Maresca when it came to the GK position:

    – start with Sanchez as the default number 1
    – ask Sanchez to play out the back, which leads to him passing the ball to the opposition at least once a game
    – drop Sanchez for Jorgensen because he’s better on the ball, Jorgensen’s poor shotstopping costs us goals

At that point in the process Maresca went back to Sanchez and allowed him to play it long if he was under pressure, which led to him becoming a top 5 keeper in the league. If Rosenior is smart he will do the same thing.

  11. My man’s playing football manager, and he’s bad at it.

Who cares if “you say the right things”, I’d rather have a manager who can’t talk to the press for shit but is actually competent and can coach these players.

This obsession with people wanting to understand what the manager is doing on a micro level is WEIRD.

No one ever understood or knew how Mourinho Ancelotti Conte Tuchel, etc. ran their dressing rooms and what they did on a micro level, all that mattered is that they performed well and they played hard and they won.

Maresca wasn’t perfect but he showed up in big games and he won trophies. I have very little confidence in this man to win us anything.

  13. I’m usually among the more patient folks when it comes to managers but he was a ridiculous appointment right off the bat

  14. Because Villa wasn’t pressing as hard or high as fkng Arsenal or Idk PSG would, moronic statement Liam

  15. ‘We’ve made that mistake’?? Nah, mate. *You* didn’t realise PSG are a different level to Aston Villa. And *You* didn’t remember that Sanchez has kept a clean sheet against PSG in a final. The decision made no sense. And *You* fucked it.

  16. “Bring on psg, we’ll beat them again.” But don’t get to feature at all. Sadge Sanchez

I’ll never ever back a manager to be gone this early on but holy shit Jorgensen better not start another g game this season. Sanchez has been superb all season.

I would actually argue that Sanchez has improved from last year, alot of the goals he’s allowed were due to our horrendous CBs. Was Arsenal his best performance? Obviously not. I don’t think it was the right call to go to Jorgensen
