I'm assuming Iran's decision is going to trigger mass withdrawals from most of UEFA, COMMEBAL and the AFC-I get the feeling that a lot of qualified countries were waiting to see if Iran withdrew before making that decision.
In short, I suspect the World Cup will officially be canceled (as it's too late to remove the United States as a host).

The rest of the teams need to come together and just call the whole thing off. It’s not safe to send teams and supporters to such a dangerous situation. Everyone knows that the US administration would love a terrorist attack on a grand scale, and the WC gives the perfect opportunity. Not safe. Stay away.

Delusional take.
I doubt many teams will boycott the World Cup. The same thing has been said about the previous 2 World Cups and no such boycott happened. What really would it achieve? It would be a financially bad decision for any nation or region that does it with not only footballing but political sanctions. Besides doing it on the basis of taking the moral high ground, which achieves nothing and realistically no country or organisation will boycott the World Cup for that reason, there isn’t much of a reason to boycott the World Cup, no more than the previous 2.
