Harry Maguire’s late header secured Manchester United’s first win at Anfield in almost a decade and gave head coach Ruben Amorim back-to-back league victories for the first time in his tenure.

The visitors looked to have been denied by Cody Gakpo’s 78th-minute equaliser, but centre-back Maguire became the latest player to expose Liverpool’s weakness at set-pieces with a powerful header.

  1. Most Liverpool players expected Bruno to pass back to the midfield, and so most of them were moving forward when Bruno sent the ball back to the box immediately. There were 3 Man United players were waiting at the far post. Maquire was at the best position to receive the ball and had enough time to head the ball to another side of the upright. The Liverpool goalkeeper was caught out of position and even didn’t move to attempt to save the ball. I think the timing of Bruno’s ball was the key.

  2. I have a new found admiration for harry… Could of done a knee slide towards our supporters… Instead, decided to run over to the scousers and celebrate in front of them… Brilliant! 😂
