Luca Marelli on potential Inter penalty: According to the FIFA rules adopted by the Serie A championship, the handball is not punishable because the movement is toward the body and not to create an obstacle.
They disallowed a goal Napoli scored against Verona for the exact same foul

Not a clear pen for me given that these get easily scrapped in other games. We didn’t deserve to win anyways with the terrible display we had.

Anyone that knows the game knows this is never a pen.
Officials just need to start calling the game correctly.

Why are we crying? The same people laughing at Rube fans having a meltdown are the same people crying about this penalty. We are still 7 points clear, have some class.

Yeah, Marelli is a major shitshow. He every weeks contraddicts hinself with this aura of I know everything any my word is law. If you push somebody with only one hand, then its not penalty (Lucumà on David if I remember correctly).
I dont care but this is penalty

For me its definitely not a penalty. The one thing I would concede just for the purpose of discussion is that the camera angle from behind Ricci looks borderline, while the camera angle from in front of Ricci makes the situation laughably “non-penalty.” Ive only seen Inter fans posting and discussing the angle from the back but the other one really makes it clear that Ricci is completely incapable of getting out of the way of that ball, and that his arm was in a very natural position.

Inter not getting punished vs Napoli with the same situation:

It’s a close call for sure, I won’t complain.
But “the movement is towards the body” is quite the subjective statement, that’s not really what the replays show.
Honestly it could have gone either way and people would’ve complained regardless, especially if it went Inter’s way because it’s Inter.
