  1. Rangers are so shit at attacking, it genuinely needs to be studied.

Mvuku also needs to be studied… quite possibly the worst footballer I have seen in my life.

  2. Significant_Income93 on

We were honking in that game. Rangers need to be asking serious questions about their players and manager that they couldn’t beat that Celtic team in two attempts at home.

Separately, two questions: (i) what the hell have we been doing not playing Sinisalo all season?; and (ii) is Joel Mvuka a YouTuber who’s pulled off a scam on us for his channel?

  3. I have no idea what was going on for three managers to look past Sinisalo. Mans a leader and the only one who gives a fuck apart from Araujo. We lose that with Schmeichel.

  4. Could argue we were the better team but never really looked like we were gonna score – not that Celtic did either. When it came to mental strength in a shootout you just knew we’d crumble.

Bigger take away from this game is how far this has set back any real allocations coming back. Fans storming the turnstiles, Ibrox disaster graffiti, full FTP and IRA chants then both set of fans on the pitch.

These two are awful teams for what they’ve spent. And I say that as an expert on such matters

  6. Playful-Listen6011 on

We can’t create, Rangers can but can’t score. Literally the story of the match

  7. GettingJacked on

Lots of positives to take from this game for Celtic. Defended the box well for 120 minutes and didn’t gift Rangers many proper chances. Great defensive effort from Trusty especially making crucial blocks and Murray did well when he came on as well.

Sinisalo is proving himself to be very capable. Gets off his line well and clears the danger. Loved him punching the ball from crosses and his catching from corners.

Hatate also battled hard all game and looked tidy on the ball, he will be crucial in the run in as him on top form is probably the best midfielder in the league.

Have to give it to the players at the end. Those were 4 well taken penalties.

We’ve been so bad at penalty taking the last few years I had absolutely no faith going into that shootout.

Sinisalo was unlucky not to save a couple as well.

  9. Mind when someone posted the top 3 teams fixtures over a 4 week period and Celtic had like 9 games to play or something like that?

I for one did not think we’d be ahead of Rangers in the table AND go to Ibrox twice in a week and come away with no defeats. Mental.

I absolutely did think we’d be papped out of Europe, so i got that much right.

One off target shot in 120 minutes.

    Wins on pens.

    Masterclass from O’Neill.

  11. Kayaksteve79 on

Well if Hearts don’t win the league, they never will. Both these teams are not at it at all.

  12. That’ll be the allocations and probably the alcohol licences fucked.

Cheers for that UB you fucking wee gimps

  13. Two utterly shite teams

If you somehow stop Rangers at set pieces and crosses, they offer absolutely nothing. Naderi and Skov Olson were passengers

This season for Celtic will go down as the biggest black mark against the board. Everyone around us is just as shite. Weve signed maybe 2 good players in the past 2 seasons. If we had a calmac stand in and a good winger, genuinely think Celtic win it inside 90 minutes

  14. NotNeedzmoar on

Trusty Murray and Scales did themselves proud to day, Sinisalo too. Hatate wasnt terrible, nor was Maeda. The rest are the reason we dont have a functional football team.

There’s no cohesion in how we play, no drilled in sequence of plays.

  15. Said it in the now removed thread…but this is a Celtic squad missing half a team of starters, playing midweek before two trips to Ibrox and we still come out on top (just). That’s fucking shocking for Rangers.

For Celtic, this has to be the game that gives us a confidence boost for the title run in. We’ve not got much quality at all, but there’s definitely fight still in this team. All we need is a few of them to show some quality moments and we’ll get the points we need.

  16. Commercial-Stick-718 on

Been a fairly pivotal week for Celtic – being up to second, not losing the league game and somehow winning that one.

Rangers mentality is weak, spend all the money you want but until the mentality changes they’ll win nothing. Should have beaten a depleted Celtic team today easily.

  17. ElCaminoInTheWest on

The only Rangers players who get pass marks from me today are Butland, Fernandez, Naderi and Chukwuani. Everyone else was either hopeless, careless, huffing and puffing, or just lacking quality. Still baffled as to how we couldn’t lay a glove on such a horrible side though. They genuinely played the last hour as though they were a man down.

Rohl needs to do something with this team’s confidence and determination otherwise the season is going to competely peter out in a series of hapless draws.

  18. Kolo_ToureHH on

We were shite when we had the ball but I thought Trusty, Arthur and Murray stood up to everything that was thrown at them. And Sinasalo was fantastic too. I think today confirms that he will be our number one going forward.

  19. Mammoth_Grocery_1982 on

Smash and grab from us. As soon as Tav missed his penalty I knew we’d win, though. Really captured Rangers lack of mentality when it matters, while we have zero ability and have maxed out our mentality.

  20. Danny rohl pretending he didnt realise anything happened after the game? Come on the fuck.

  21. So Rohl was straight up the tunnel so fast he didn’t know about the meltdown at the end? He’s either the biggest shitebag on earth or a lying cunt hahahaha

  22. Rohl saying he didn’t know what happened after the match is embarrassing. Wenger wouldn’t even do that, and he never saw a flashpoint in his career

  23. This is not a Reo apology post but you have to appreciate all the penalty scorers. Unbelievable pressure, players in poor form, and at Ibrox in front of a known excellent penalty saver. Well in.

  24. Interesting game, Rangers a lot more reserved with their pressing this time round and had much more gas in the tank for the full game than Celtic. Rangers dominated for long spells with Celtic struggling to advance the ball and mostly forced to sit back and soak up the pressure. They managed to limit Rangers to half chances though until much later on when the game got really stretched and there was just tired legs on show all round.

Not much quality on display compared to last weeks old firm either but yeah a shit tonne of drama with both teams fully committed to getting the result, made it well worth watching.

A robbery in the end by Celtic but Trusty worthy of the man of the match award.

  25. MadJackMcMadd on

No McGregor, no Tierney, no CCV, no Engels, no Jota, no striker. Somehow Rangers still couldn’t beat us at home. Unreal result. Rohl is not a serious manager.

  26. We don’t have the mentality, or leadership, to get us over the line in any game where it really matters – been like that for multiple years now.

Desperately need to sign a proper goal scorer, or someone who can at least take control of a game and pull us back up when it gets tough.

  27. dreadpiratehobbit on

Fucking hell Rangers are not as good as thought they were. Moore the only one who looks to add any creativity or spark to the hoofball. Chermiti at least caused the defence problems and probably will be a good striker in a year or two

Whole Celtic defense played well, given it was backs to the walls stuff for stretches.

Bernardo actually did alright when he came on, which surprised me.

As a long time McGowan defender I admit defeat. He’s too weak and too slow, a genuine man down in midfield.

  28. tarteninja97 on

While I do think that Rohl has done a good job of lifting this Rangers team from the abyss Martin left them in, question do need to be asked about his decisions in these big games, as now if you look this year he’s only one two of his past 6 games against sides in the top 6 – one of those being against Nancy Celtic.

in most of those they’ve either been the better side or taken the lead but failed to win, question the Mentally of the players and himself to be able to win when it matters

  29. I’m old enough to remember 6 weeks ago when Rangers flairs who’d never watched the Bundesliga in their puff, were telling us a guy that couldn’t get a game for Wolfsburg was the 2nd coming.

No coincidence that our centre halves were our best players along with Hatate the last 2 games. Rangers are just a long ball team capable of nothing else.

  30. Deadend_Friend on

That was a game really lacking on quality. Can see why both have had pretty poor seasons in the league.

  31. Celtic fans when some baldy boy skooshes water at them: not much, maybe a Reddit comment.

Rangers fans when big Tam gets it up them: full pitch invasion.

We are not the same. Ram your ‘ugly sisters’ shite up yer hole.

  32. BlaineFortenberry on

Rangers by far the better team and yet never really looked like scoring. You absolutely need to question how they cannot beat a terrible Celtic team missing 4-5 of their best players. Hard to find positives but do think Rangers are close to clicking.

Celtic defended well but they need to he concerned how little quality they have.

Thought Robertson done well except should have booked Maeda for persistent fouling. Gets away with the same thing every time.

Hate that we lost because makes it difficult to complain but really wish the compliance officer banned players for clear and obvious simulation again. Trusty was utterly embarrassing and this shite wont stop until it is punished.

  33. Worst game of football I’ve been at that I can remember.

Enjoyed my first and probably last trip to Ibrox.
