I feel it might have helped him physically in the long run.
His game and position doesn’t rely on explosiveness,so an ACL tear is not as devastating in the grand scheme of things. In the meantime he has developed physically, tremendously. This build up will suit him far better to be a dominant midfielder and better ball defender + help him stand his ground. It’s especially important for a young player.
Good for him, hope him, Pedri and Fermin can develop into a mainstay for next 10+ years like Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets.

We got de jongs replacement for free from the academy. Bernal will develop while de jong becomes old. Their ages literally time perfectly for bernal to replace him
