We didn’t play well but the ref was terrible too. They should have had three players sent off (elbow on Shaw was a straight red, and Joelinton sarcastically clapping at the ref should have been his second yellow).

We were awful last night but the ref took it up on himself to make it about him the whole match. Awful refereeing. It wasn’t even about bias because he was shit for us and for NC

Not excusing a bad performance but the ref was something else. I’d like to hear what his reasoning was behind not sending off Joelinton. And the elbow on Shaw.
We were so ass that any sort of complaint will just make us look like mugs. We really didnt at any point in the game (save for the last 20 or so minutes of the first half), look like we werr trying to win the game. Even after they went to 10 men and we equalized, we still looked like we couldn’t be bothered.

Was it maguire who passed backwards almost 5 minutes past added time to end the match instead of hoofing it into the box. I dont understand the thought process of doing that ….

He got about 4 corners wrong towards the end gifting kick outs to Newcastle. Multiple yellow cards, Burn straight red, Joelington clapping at him after being booked, Trippier over shouting in his face and pointing the finger at half time as well.

Sorry Harry, but we had an entire half playing against 10 men to get the job done.
Let’s not be like Arsenal fans who constantly moan about the referee’s not giving them decisions as the reason for their losses.
Sure, the ref may make a few ridiculous calls, but getting the win is still in your hands.
How were we a player up but looking like we had 10 men instead?
Take responsibility in the 90 minutes and stop moaning.

Every fan across every team in country moans about refs – so boring when this is the discourse 24/7.

Maz also got absolutely destroyed (no call) which led to him getting injured which forced Carrick to make the sub for Malacia and we know what happened from there.

Apparently, the worst thing that can happen to us is to play against 10 men. The Everton game was awful and this one wasn’t much better. It looked like the whole team overslept and woke up 5 minutes before the game. They started with no energy and didn’t really start playing till the 2nd half.

Losing against 10 men unfortunately means that you lose any right to any excuses.

I can’t figure out Newcastle at all. Their players just fall over the moment they feel your breath, Gordon being the worst offender. Meanwhile, Trippier is out there straight legging people down, then having the gal to argue and moan about every call as if they are soft or non existent.
I get that we were lethargic and hardly a dynamic attacking force, but Newcastle didn’t deserve to win or draw with their shitty terror-ball. I admit their defense worked (fall, flop and foul), which completely broke up any of our attempted offensive flow, got them a penalty and kept them in the game long enough for an individual moment of brilliance to work out. Unfortunately it was a shitty game to watch all over.

Should be more fuming with his team-mates.
