In the tiniest shred of positive news today, Sharon Osbourne mentioned on their podcast that Ozzfest will be returning, and she’s planning to host two days at VP.
For those who may not know, Ozzfest was the precursor to what is now Download Festival at Donnington Park- a rock and metal festival ran by Ozzy and The Osbourne family.
This is great news from a legacy point of view, but also massive for revenue. We’ve seen with Tottenham how lucrative the event side to their business can be, so it’s great that we seem to becoming the go-to place for big rock gigs in the West Midlands. In recent years we’ve had Foo Fighters, Guns N’ Roses, last year’s Ozzy show, and now this.
Very aware there’s probably bigger talking points today, but I thought this was a welcome distraction.

Should bring in a fair bit of lucra that. Fair play.
Yessss! This is brilliant news! Especially because now we’ll actually get some revenue from it I assume. The BTTB concert was incredible for exposure, but the charity aspect meant we didn’t really see anything.
