I mean if City signed him, he’d be the most hated player after Bernardo Silva. So well done Todd.

  2. They did it quite a lot early doors. There were 3 or 4 players Arsenal were trying to sign and then Boehly would come steaming in from nowhere to try and hijack it.

Most notably Mudryk (lmao) but also tried it with Raphinha and Gabi Jesus. A few others. Then they pivoted from that strategy and just decided to only buy Brighton players.

Yeah not surprised at all. Atleast he turned out good unlike some of the other ‘hey others are interested in him so he must be great’ signings.

  4. United do this for most city targets. So much so that we baited them in to paying millions for Fred and Maguire

Cucurella has been good for Chelsea, City did the same with Grealish and Phillips, the former was integral in winning a treble.

It’s honestly not Bozo Boehly as this article would have you believe. Big clubs with knowledgeable sporting directors do the same thing.

Yeah they bid 35m for him and said they wouldn’t go over 40m so what did Egbahli and his idiots do pay Brighton 63m.

But then it’s not the worst because he’s actually worked out to some extent. 4 good signings out of 400 though isn’t the best percentage.

City rarely miss when it comes to signing players and Chelsea needed a left back. Hardly rocket science even if it was a high price at the time
