Xg is utter horse shit and the mere mention of it is an immediate sign for me to stop talking to that person about football.

It’s not a flaw, it’s just that we are conceding from unlikely efforts on goal, today was a great example of that

  3. Game is more than just expected goals, but I feel like we have terrible luck this season. Like the footballing gods want us down.

You need luck in low scoring games.

  4. Yep – this is a massive issue. The Man Utd game was a fair draw tbh but the fact we have conceded 5 goals to like 2xG is bizarre, an the Bournemouth game was just so so shocking in terms of finishing.

It averages out but I worry out ‘averaging’ will happen when we are in the championship.

Bowens form is a massive part of this – he is missing chance after chance and it’s killing us.

If it were August or September, I could actually take today as a positive. But it’s the end of February and we’re 18th, so a -3 GD is always going to be a gut punch. Very frustrating.

Feels crazy to talk about in a game where we conceded 5 goals… but our CB pairing has been outstanding. Need to clean up the box on set pieces, but hopefully the squad can keep playing like this.

The set pieces were the problem today, but they also need to be more clinical.

They’ve thrown away so many points this season.
