  1. When Harry McGuire leaves football behind he needs to tell his story… meaning how he managed to stay positive and not give up while the whole world was mocking him… a few years ago his mom made a statement online saying "I'm very proud of my son because he's so mentally strong… anyone else in his position, having the whole world mocking him and bullying him through media and social media would have given up"… and that's a huge reality… most players can't get over a few bad games, let alone having their whole country and even the whole world mocking them… you need to be an EXCEPTIONALLY strong character to get over that…

Harry McGuire might never win "UEFA Defender of the Year" or anything like that, but the man is a winner in life… I can't remember a single other person that was so widely mocked, booed and shown as a joke that went on to have a good football career and didn't get depressed and give up…

  2. The difference is simple if you know football….. Harry is a 'back to goal defender'…. He defends by meeting danger head on!… Defending on the halfway line and running back towards his own goal when the high lines were broken made him look silly, made him look ridiculous….. He's much more comfortable now playing to his strengths…..

  3. One thing about Martinez first season. Yes, Martinez was injured, but even before he got injured, he was partnered with Varane. After that, it was Varane and Shaw (who was ahead of Maguire as well)

  4. Regardless, his time at United has been more of a liability than a level up. Props to him for bouncing back from the tough times he went through, but we need elite defenders and Harry just isn't one.
