I used to admit defeat when my constant confusion at McGregor playing every minute was met with “he’s the captain and the metronome of the team” as it had enough weight but now he just points. I don’t get the fetish of running him into the ground.
He does offer a lot more when played further up top….. but we think he’s peak N’Golo Kante or something and he’s eternally sat holding.
It’s farcical. And I’ll probably get grief for this – him being captain means fuck all to me. It’s an antiquated role that offers nothing in practical help or benefit.
