Controversial opinion but it’s the fans. Reduction in home advantage was seen in ww1, ww2 and covid. Why is it happening now that people are actually stil going to games? I reckon it’s cos a lot of home crowds are a bit shit and don’t give that advantage that they used coupled with away fans being more zealous. Just spitballing tbh

New stadiums built just do not create the same intimidating atmospheres as the old grounds like Highbury, Goodison, Upton Park, White Hart Lane etc.

Maybe, but Leeds and Sunderland will be staying up purely because of great home form, same as forest a few years ago

I think VAR has wiped a lot of that way. Refs being less swayed by the crowd and what not, and if they are, decisions of key moments can be reviewed
