They’re having a phenomenal season In Europe this year.
If I were on the board I would be hiring consultants from clubs like Bodo, Midtjylland, Brugge, Copenhagen etc to modernize our operations.
They all have way smaller budgets than us, but still manage to massively punch above their weight because they have thoroughly modernised with robust youth, training and scouting systems.

Honestly if your Knutsen, why would you come to Celtic ? I just don’t see why he’d even consider it with the mess of things.
We’re 10 years behind BG and that’s only if we get our shit together.

If Celtic got into the CL most seasons, and repeatedly lost out to bigger clubs – what MoN and the board are saying would be fitting within *that context*.
The true context however, just this season alone, is failure to even make the Champions League against a Kazakhstani side over two legs. A decent enough showing against mostly teams they should be competing with, and then annihilation in the knockout phases.
This is in a competition that Rangers have twice made the final of, in arguably its more difficult format, since the last time Celtic even just won a knockout tie. Yet, Celtic fans are being told the financial gulf means competing isn’t realistic.
