When did Spurs start being referred to by thier nickname in official tables etc . I'm sure it wasn't always like this. Why not Tottenham in the same way as Newcastle or Brighton both have their name abridged. Would be a right mess if everyone started doing this. Can be pinpoint that this is the main reason they are so crap…

  1. It changes if you turn your phone. Spurs when vertical, Tottenham Hotspur when horizontal. You get all the full names when horizontal.

  2. Jokes aside I think they asked to either be referred to by their full name or just spurs, remember reading it

  3. About a year ago the club asked to be referred to as Tottenham Hotspur or Spurs over Tottenham. A very quick google will get you here.

  4. Because club management throw a tantrum whenever they’re not called either “Tottenham Hotspur” or “Spurs”. Anything else is apparently wrong.

Why else do you think we gave up trying to appease them and just call them Shit?
