Why should Partey sacrifice his career for the Black Stars when he scored the qualifying goal for Otto Addo and Otto Addo gives the Captain’s armband to Andre Ayew, who was in civilian clothes and did not play one minute against Nigeria. Partey should focus on his Club career and only answer calls for Black Stars when the Coach is being reasonable and fair. The Coach could also be democratic and let the players and technical team decide who wears the Captain’s armband. Partey is right to ask for a younger midfielder to back him up if he is not 100%. He knows his mind and body better than Otto Addo. If the Coach and technical team are not protecting the players when they answer the call for international duty then the players have to protect themselves and their careers. Nobody should be injured on international duty yet Partey and Lamptey both had to leave with injuries.
