      I’m sure I went to this game with my stepdad.
      We Absolitly battered them and we came home to listen to McClaren say that they were the better team and unlucky to lose.

      ON THIS DAY 2004:

      One goal down at half-time, Newcastle equalised after a Robert cross deflected off Murphy, before Ehiogu touched it around Shwarzer for Bellamy to finish.

      The second came Southgate as ajudged to have fouled Ambrose in the box, and Shearer scored the subsequent penalty. His first goal in forty five days.

      Victory at St James’ took the Toon fourth in the table.
