As a Barca fan I would love to have Woltemade as the replacement for Lewandowski next season. Not sure if the finances allow it, but I hope we can srape the money together, since you lot don't seem to want him. I think Flick would be able to bring the best version out of him

Woltemade due to his technically ability was more suitable to support in midfield due to our injuries it's as simple as that.

Big Joe not match fit , Bruno Injured , Miley injured , even Fabian schar injured who could have stepped up.

Other option would have been push hall further forward however Eddie doesn't trust Alex Murphy or Leo shar enough to play them so it's down to the available players and the amounts games we are playing to why woltemade is being dropped further back.

Has attacking wise we have slightly more options for substitutions during the game.

You want to change everything from the balance of the squad to the way we play to try and help wolte… But what happens is woltemade looks great but the whole team suffers. Woltemade needs to compliment the team not the other way round.

You use Stuttgart as an example but its actually against yourself. Wolte looked good for Stuttgart but Stuttgart are better without him.

There is no legitimate source that says he's unhappy. The story was fabricated in an opinion piece by one of those low quality outlets that post non stop clickbait and the BBC reported on it citing this article as a source.

You’re completely missing the point here. For Germany and Stuttgart the quality of opposition was poor compared to who we’re facing in the premier league. He is constantly bullied by opposition CBs and isn’t able to play how he wants which is ball to feet and linking in with our midfield or wingers.

He is not suitable for leading our press. We need someone with pace up top to do that which is why we’ve looked a much more functional team with Gordon up top.

You make your points in bad faith around Gordon to suit your narrative. 5 open play goals in 9 champions league games.

His finishing has been poor, but he hasn’t played badly as the number 9. The team looks far more balanced and the press looks cohesive because he doesn’t allow the opposition keeper to act as an extra man in build up.

Also, saying big nick doesn’t work in the current system is not the same as saying he’s a bad player. We can all see he’s top quality and one of our most technically gifted players. he’s just not physical or fast enough for our system and we can’t change it dramatically this season.

AND he missed the last penalty he took. But since he scored that fantastically struck penalty earlier in the season people are overlooking how rock solid Gordon has been from the spot.

I’d rather our main penalty taker got more practice taking pens in an actual professional game with real pressure than gifting pity pens to our other players. There is no replacement for taking a penalty in a real match. It’s impossible to replicate that pressure on the training ground.

We just need someone who scares opposition defenders and makes them sit a little deeper to allow our midfielders to get into the game, otherwise opposition CBs can simply push up, squeeze the middle of the pitch and crowd big Nick out because he’s not a threat in behind.

Next season we’ll see a much better player in him and he should be our leading striker but at the moment he isn’t on the same wavelength as our players. How many times have we played a killer ball across the box and he’s nowhere near it.

I understand you need to make these videos to get clicks and you make some solid points but you also oversimplify a lot and consistently leave out context or information that doesn’t suit your narrative. Completely wrong. Woltemade drops back to a midfield position even when he is playing as a number 9. Made no difference. I did not realise he was even playing he was that bad

Can't lie, it feels like you're trying everything you can to keep the pressure on Eddie Howe. We won 6-1 and you're still complaining. Woltemade isn't even unhappy. The report was based on a throwaway comment made in a German newspaper. Gordon has been getting criticism all season about his goal output so I'm not surprised he took the penalty.

How are fans actually going at Gordon after he scored 4 goals in 1 half? He’s the penalty taker, Eddie has made that clear and said he wanted him to take it.

I’ve agreed with most of Brian’s videos but this one not so much.

People are missing the point – the real issue is that if Howe keeps playing Nick in that midfield position it's the beginning of the end on a player with incredible potential.

TG is right, this wasn't really a tactical change from Howe it was more of him sticking to what he knows, someone in the 9 who can press and fair play to Gordon he did that and got goals.

The real problem lays in that instead of finding a way to integrate Nick into his tierd system he would rather play Gordon/Wissa because it's a familier set up to press.

This has all the hallmarks of Zirkzee at Man U (playing him in midfield from a 9) but Nick is 100x the player he is and has shown glimpses of excellence like against Chelsea with 2 well taken goals.

Look it worked out against Quarbag but this is won't be sustainable, 3 good away wins don't mask how poor we've played overall.

There's been alot of times where the wide players had an easier chance and newcatsle had a better chance to score if they had played it into nick and wissa… clearly choosing their own numbers above the teams ability to score…. and they havnt done the job… its so frustrating.. play the bloody pass that provides a better chance at getting goals

I agree with some of your points but disagree with some also. We have tried playing Woltemade upfront but because we haven't got a proper number 10 to play behind him, it isn't working. We are playing a 4231 not 433. Eddie has changed it and it's worked, that's all that matters. On the Trips/Woltemade dispute, I can understand it from both sides. If it were me, I'd have given to Woltemade to take the pen but Gordon is our designated penalty taker and is lethal taking them.

On Woltemade….he isnt a striker. Has a very average career to date. Brian nailed his colours to the mast way too early and cant just admit the kid isnt a striker.
