Ok our midfield engine has gone bla bla moan moan, but come on, we have decent replacements. Our defence and attack is top quality.

We need to be giving Arsenal and City a run for their money, and not looking behind our backs at unhinged teams like Man U and Chelsea.

None of this ‘making do’, toughing it out, scraping a win: play football and stop playing so scared. Beat some teams. Get your mojo back and try and win the frickin league.

Not being a pessimist but we’re not winning the league and I don’t mind, I just want top 5 and that CL spot, I’d love a title run but we don’t have the depth City or Arsenal have due to PSR being so biased.

It’s one in the same really. If we look forward and try to keep pace, there’s no need to look back.

Spurs fan here in full support of your title charge- its real. Arsenal and City have not finished dropping points

  4. I’d love to think we had it in us, but every time we have the opportunity to push on, we seem to faulter.

This season has been plagued with us gifting teams goals, I can’t see that changing as the evidence in front of us suggests we’re going to continue to pass it around at the back so mistakes will continue to be made.

Tammy hitting form would help, but in all honesty, I can’t see past a Citeh title charge, given their ability to reinforce in January.

For now though…we can always dream.

  5. I feel that realistically Villa won’t win the league. That being said it absolutely winds me up that we are never in the conversation as title contenders and more, we are often just casually dismissed out of hand.

There is a post right now on r/PremierLeague talking about who will win, Arsenal or City. I went through all the comments and Villa were mentioned once in over 200 comments. The comment was something like ‘Villla or Man U *could* go on a run’ That’s it, that’s the entire extent of Villa’s part in that conversation. Liverpool and Chelsea got plenty of mentions.

Even when we were on our winning run all the punditry would be like ‘yeah Villa are totally in a title race’ then whan asked if they will actually win it, the ‘no’ we get is always instant, with a note of derision and a bit of a laugh.

I dunno, i just wish we were taken more seriosuly. We’ve been a consistent presence in the top 5 for 3 years now. So, yeah I would love for Villa to win the league, mostly for Villa and the fans but partly as a massive ‘fuck you’ to all the pundits who have spent 3 years just casually dismissing us in such a way that it’s clear that they feel that Villa winning the league is laughable.

A slightly better start, one or two less injuries, a little more clinical in front of goal. Any one of those things could see us top of the league at this point, all three and we’d have a lead.

I remain confident that the funniest possible outcome will occur, which is City first, Villa second, Arsenal third.
