Mario Cecchi. Master tactician. Advisor to the head coach. However when I see him the most is when things aren’t working; especially defensively. He was out on the touchline almost as much as Inzaghi during the CL final and we all now how well that went. Since then, every game where the defense has been terribly organized I have seen him being in intense communication with either Chivu or the players. In late February, if the players still aren’t sure what their objective is, the performances in defense clearly are obstacles and the direction isn’t improving much, I would start to consider whether this coach is actually a good influence on the team. Keep in mind he worked with Inzaghi for many years, in comes a new coach with different principles and systems. The way I see it there’s a clash of styles, how it’s supposed to be versus how it’s actually playing out.

  1. We are literally 1st in the league, got 37 out of 39 points in the last 13 games, which is excellent form, almost perfect. The league is obviously the goal, Akanji already said it multiple times in interviews. Last night it wasn’t even 50% of Inter. They were playing scared of the pitch and for good reason, we lost two players because of it.

Our defense and attack are better than last year on paper, they just look worse on the eye because of all the counters. Chivu is playing in a very high risk/high reward kind of way

0,92 goals per game conceded last season in Serie A vs 0,84 this season. 2,08 goals scored last season vs 2.4 goals scored this season.
