The most important thing Chivu has to realize: there’s no reason for Acerbi to be ahead of De Vrij. I appreciate both of them, but let’s be honest, they’re past their peak. Still, De Vrij is clearly offering more right now. I genuinely can’t even remember the last time we won with Acerbi starting.

  1. What is De Vrij offering? Stinker after stinker every time he plays. Even in Coppa against Torino’s B team. We need to buy some good defenders. We had these problems last year too, but they were hidden a bit by Inzaghi’s playing style. Chivu plays much higher, so the issues are more obvious on counters.

We conceded 0,92 goals per match in the league last season, this season we are at 0,84. So we are technically in better form, it just looks worse on the eye test because of all the counters.

The attack is also better. 2,4 goals per game this season vs 2,08 last season.

  2. Guys, Inter wants the next round only for money, if we’ll get it (difficult after tonight). Focus and everybody’s will is on the scudetto, that’s why he put Acerbi and not De Vrij on the pitch. Same reason half the team tonight was made of substitutes and Dimarco got a nice&cold mid-winter trip to Norway. We’re playing for the Scudetto, and we’re already dealing with some serious injuries, so we can’t spare our best men.

Imagine having a former defender to a coach, who insist on garbage zonal defense and cant even prevent 3 goals from a part time amatuer norwegigian side.

    GTFO GYPSY CHIVU

The same goes for J Martinez
The simple fact that he is a couple inches taller than Summers would have been enough to deflect/stop the second goal

Every time De Vrij has played this season he has been one of the better players on the pitch. I can’t imagine what he must have done behind the scenes to keep him behind Acerbi in the pecking order.
