Lineker said it was his fault. We changed our play from the previous winning season to put everything through to him. He left after one season and we won the league again.

Possibly the most self deprecating dual title parade ever. At least we won the Charity Shield.

this is around when i became a fan.. i was Canadian 17/18yo visiting family in Liverpool.. My uncle who worked security at goodison took us to the charity shield in ’86.. so i chose Everton as my team

That cost us the league title. A relegation threatened Oxford and Gary Linker who changed his boots and missed chance after chance.
Southall also got seriously injured in March that year which massively impacted us, we should have won the double that year
