You don’t get to spend £0.5b in the season off the back of a title win and come out with this stuff while sat in 6th. That’s the daily cost of the entire UK health service for 70m people.
Just because the Board mis-profiled most their signings and missed key players like Guehi, doesn’t give them a cop out. Especially when they were 5 clear of 2nd place at one point.

It’s shocking how poor our recruitment has been this season. We spent £450m (I know net spend but still) on essentially a world class AM and then 2 strikers… We haven’t replaced Fabinho in the years since he left, Salah has needed back up/rotation for a while now and the coach clearly didn’t favour Chiesa, we were scarily thin at CB as well. Add to that selling Diaz and Nunez (he wasn’t amazing) meaning we lost a lot of pace and pressing and it’s no surprise to see us where we are.
Kerkez, Frimpong, Ekitike and Wirtz are fine additions. I still don’t get the Isak thing, we needed another striker sure, but not for that money.
