I hope all is well
For context, although I’m a Liverpool supporter, I’ve followed Borussia Dortmund since I was around 10–11 years old. I first got into them through FIFA career mode, watching them consistently produce top young talents, and over time I became an avid viewer of their matches. I’ve always had a soft spot for BVB, partly because both clubs have shared the same great manager in Jürgen Klopp, and because a few players have played for both teams. Honestly, Dortmund is the only other European club I could see myself supporting if it were possible to support two.
I’m curious about how the club’s fans view certain players. Specifically, I’d like to know if Jadon Sancho, Jude Bellingham, and Erling Haaland are considered club legends, regardless of how long they were at BVB or the circumstances of their departures. All three were hugely popular and achieved a lot individually while representing the club.

I wouldn’t call any of them legends. I loved all 3 when they were here, especially Haaland and Sancho, but to be a called a legend, you need to stay at the club after a couple seasons, not leave when youre 21 lol
No, they aren’t legends. They are (or were) great players but their time in Dortmund was way too short for them to be considered legends.
You don’t become a legend by being a mercenary.
Now I understand why they left, especially Jadon (which is also part of why we have a collective soft spot for him) but legends put the club and city before their already overflowing bank accounts.
Marco Reus is a legend because he was one of the greatest players we ever had and produced and he never left even though he could have.
They didn’t spend enough time here at Dortmund to be considered “legends”, although all 3 were great players. I personally liked Sancho the most, followed by Erling and then Jude.
None of them are legends for me. However Sancho will always be “the boy” for a lot of the fans including me.
They are not legends. Ricken, Sammer, Weidenfeller, Reus etc. are legends.
But these three were insanely good player and there isn’t bad blood. Everyone knows they just wanted to go the next step and most still like them. A lot also wish Sancho back and maybe in the summer he comes back.
I think Haaland and Bellingham are considered as great and likeable players while they were with us. Who helped us immensely. With mostly no hard feelings towards them.
Sancho is these things aswell, but for a lot of fans he was and still is a fan favorite. He was frustrating at times, rough months with bad performances, late to training. But you believed him when he said and showed how much he loved that club. And sometimes he got to wear the captains band for the last few minutes and you could see how much it meant to him (although he is by no means captain material). So if he would’ve stayed I am sure he could’ve become a legend if his performance was similar. A lot of fans wish for him to come “home”. So I think that says it all about him.
The Jude that played at Dortmund and the Jude that plays at Real Madrid are two different Jude’s. Or he had a brain transplant. Or Vini got to him.
Cuz the Madrid Jude is a bitch.
For me, none of the three are club legends. That requires much more than just using the club as a springboard for your career, which I don’t hold against them. But you have to be here for several years and win something to have a chance of being perceived as a legend. Your demeanour, i.e. your character, also plays a role. But that’s just my personal opinion; others may see it very differently.
No they are just random mercenary 27 especially erling
They are extraordinaty players with great skill and future. As much as I love my BVB, their ambitions and skill quickly outgrew the whole team. As sad as it sounds, Dortmund don’t have that kind of money to keep this kind of world class players.
(Still hope for Sanch’s return)
To this day i wonder how we didnt won the championship with them.
And it wasnt even close, right?
Sancho if he comes back and stays will be a club legend, we love him the most- a lot of us even love him more than our current bunch because how connected he remains to the club. Always watches our games, always interacts with our current players on social media
Sancho is loved and it is a tragedy how he ended.
Jude is a beast but characterwise he is not liked.
Haaland is very much respected, especiallx because he showed his respect towards BVB several times after he left
if we’d had all 3 at the same time for like 3 years, I think we’d have won at least one more trophy
