I like him. 6'3, mobile. Good distribution. Everything I like in a CB. I have a feeling alot of his errors in the past have come down to confidence. Much like Mav. I'd expect the fresh start, the coaches, and those around him (Todibo, Diouf Areola) to help him build that back up as there is defo a good player in there. Also, seeing a lot of footage of him playing RB, which is an assurance that (like I already said) that he is mobile for a big man and has some ability with the ball at his feet. Realistically, you would think that's someone who is immediateley competing to start for us at CB; You'd assume it's a question of "who starts with Todibo at this current moment); and someone who could offer cover at fullback. Good addition. Welcome, Axel. ๐
Still wonder if there isnt a midfielder in Kilman. With Disasi added to the squad, Id look at that in training. I wouldnt before hand because we were short on CBs, with everyone fit (Genuinely didnt look at Igor as an option in a back 2 unless completely desperate). That may be worth a look in training.
Is it true he has played just two u21 games since April? Great time to play Chelsea with Rosenior still settling in and them having only won 6 of their last 7 games.
Happy with him and Adama. Not overwhelmed with Taty and Pablo at the price. Prefer market opportunities to Mendes opportunities TBH.
Regarding the b**stard era, Taty has got a very good mentality; I must say. From what ive seen in the training vids, and behind the scenes stuff, he seems to take himself very seriously LOL. I just don't trust his profile (physicality wise) to lead a PL line on his own and I'm not convinced Pablo is ready. I'd look at Taty as the Paqueta replacement in the squad, and use the Paqueta money to get a top quality, powerful, mobile CF and look at the likes of Taty, Wilson, even Adama to play off him in central areas, rather than getting a like for like creative profile. Pablo as the second choice to that player, at least for a year or 2. Hoping Pablo has a couple levels to go up, TBH. Would start building the squad more in the identity of a 4-4-2 at this stage. Id like that Paqueta money to be spent on a tall, powerful, mobile CF and look at the likes of Taty, Wilson and like I said, Adama, playing in the space off them. Duran on loan?
