    Do Bayern fans actually hate BVB ?


    As someone who's a bayern fan and not german,i like bvb and how the club is run ,i find myself cheering for them when they play in europe , im curious to know if the Bayern/Bvb rivalry is only football based or if there are any hatred between the fans in Germany

      There should be no hate in football. I mean its just football. I am bayern fan but i also like to see bvb play well

      No. But BvB isn’t truly our rival, our rivals are supposed to be 1860, but they have been bad for decades.

      But on the whole, same as you

      A healthy team is good for German football

      Nothing more than a rivalry on sporting level. Actual rivals are 1860 and Nürnberg.
      And even aside that, there is more hate towards Schalke and Stuttgart for example, more than towards Dortmund.

      as one of the biggest rivals in bundesliga the last decades. we respect each other. CL two years ago I really hoped they would win.

      Not at all.

      I love BVB, I actually miss the Klopp days, in recent years (well, recent but it was over a decade ago) I feel not having a real rival in the Bundesliga has harmed us in the UCL. When BVB was at their peak, they were our toughest rival, tougher than Mourinho’s Real or Pep’s Barca.

      Also their “heavy metal football” as Klopp described was beautiful to watch and what he did with that rather limited squad was incredible, they knocked out Real Madrid in their prime with a squad that must have been 1/5th of what Madrid’s was worth.

      I wish BVB got back to their highest level, for me they’re the only team with the potential to challenge Bayern in the long term. I don’t see RBL, Stuttgart or Frankfurt being able to do that, and having a real contender only makes us better.

      Couldn’t care less, any rivalry you hear about is just commercial bs. Also, the games against them are usually pretty boring imo.

      I often root for them, both in BuLi and in Europe. Good, competitive Bundesliga teams are also good for Bayern so I want to see them succeed. Not only that, but I also like them as a club.

      I always root for the BVB in Champions League and hope the best for them there. Very likable club and I also love their cooperation with One Piece. The fans on the other hand are a mixed bag as it’s the case with many clubs.

      i dislike them when they got fans in 2013/14.

      but generally they did so bad the last years, that i feel sorry for them. And hope they get their strength back, especially international. kinda boring now.

      Nah I personally don’t. I actually like BVB and I do get annoyed if they somehow fuck up. When they play against us, then I would be on Bayern’s side but I wouldn’t hate on them

      i started watching bayern from 2023 ucl semi final and i dont hate bvb as they are just not good enough to give attention to

      I don’t despise them at all, but when they play against us you have to have your priorities straight. A good Dortmund is healthy for the Bundesliga. And I was even rooting for them in the 2024 CL Final.

      I don’t hate them. In a vacuum, I have no feelings about them. I cheer for them in international matches, as I do for every german club (I am german).

      What I do enjoy is when the club has drama. For example the ongoing criticism in regards of their unattractive playstyle, the lack of output from Guirassy, the moaning about Brandt’s performances and so on. I enjoy when they lose in the Bundesliga, even though I would like to have a title race with them in general.

      Dortmund has been a rival on and off.
      When I became a football fan in the 90ies Dortmund has been Bayern’s measure.
      German Champion in 95 and 96.
      Champions League winner in 97.
      Beat us in UCL quarterfinal in 98.

      The rivalry was reignited in the 2010s when they had another two consecutive Bundesliga titles and met us in the UCL Final.
      Ever since I’d wager Dortmund has become a steady #2 in Germany and I’m always looking forward to the direct duels.

      I root for most BL teams when Bayern isnt playing them. My order goes – Dortmund, Leverkusen, Augsburg, Stuttgart. Oh yeah btw, fck Leipzig.

      It’s only a competitive rivalry in the sense that both are good teams. They aren’t rivals in the classical sense .

      I was supporting them so hard against Madrid in UCL finals, would have thrown a party had they won.

      They’re so far away from being a real challenger for #1 in Germany that there is not a lot of heat left in that rivalry. Things were way different when Klopp managed them to their two consecutive championships, and that CL final was pure torture, because losing to them would have been devastating.
