we don’t have the numbers in the squad to be able to lose Wolte and Burn now so I’d say no, keep them here

  2. How about instead of this, they do a Newcastle theme park?

Imagine the roller coasters?! They’d be the best in the world.

  3. Would be nice, but again, like any of our Saudi deals due to ownership, it’d be put under a microscope and judged on fair market value.

  4. We should just put it out there as a rumour, then we can all put bets on how fast they change the rules to block it.

My biggest criticism of our owners is the lack of dodgy deals like this. You have Chelsea pulling every string they can and every year they pull further and further away from us, this is exactly how we should be fighting PSR. Man U can spend as they please even when they finish 15th, If the prem want an unfair corrupt league made for the sky 6 then we should be doing these deals x10. What is the point of having evil owners if we get no positives out of it? This isn’t against the rules, we could be title challengers by now if we did a few of these deals early on, we’d still have Anderson and Minteh as well. At this point if our owners aren’t willing to use their contacts and pull strings to help us combat PSR then I would rather they bugger off

  6. This shit is so stupid. Chelsea and Man city also recently announced branded real estate developments in Dubai. I can’t imagine being a fully grown adult and buying a football club branded apartment. As a resident, I hope the real estate market crashes. Prices have literally doubled in 5 years.

Doesn’t sponsorship usually work the other way? It seems like the real estate is the one sponsoring Barca in this instance…

  8. I always wondered the impacts of FFP if the Saudi’s bought up a bunch of the hotels and shops around St James and tied their income into the clubs.

A couple of the goals of FFP:

    > Encouraging Revenue Growth: By exempting infrastructure, governing bodies (UEFA/Premier League) encourage clubs to increase their own revenue streams—such as ticket sales and hospitality—rather than relying on owner injections.

    > Sustainable Development: The core goal is to stop clubs from accumulating massive debts on player wages/transfers while allowing them to build assets that improve the club’s long-term value and financial health.
Impact on Strategy: Clubs often leverage this exemption by investing heavily in stadium expansions (e.g., Tottenham, Liverpool) to boost future revenue without violating sustainability rules.

I guess my question is: If the club diversified its assets and income beyond football, can it apply to FFP income?

I mean, I would be thrilled to see a St James Hotel chain pop up around the globe if that income tied back into the club. Season ticket holder? Enjoy your 10% room discount.
