I think this gem from almost 12 years ago is how I feel about Dortmund's season this year.

Never in doubt. 3 points.

  1. Can only say this for so long until things finally fall apart

I used to be super positive about Dortmund too but I just don’t recognize the team anymore, watching this team nowadays just feels kinda soulless compared to the past years even though we are successful in the league now

Hoping next summer signals some ambition because otherwise this season seems to be a write off (unless we see a domestic Bayern catastrophe within the next few months which I wanna see)

  2. Pass to the wingbacks and cross for 80 minutes. Subs come on we actually try to build up and we look 10 times better

It’s why any team that presses us effectively always shuts us down.

  3. I am really wondering if there are people who truely believe if there is a coach out there who could play much more attractive football with this team while having a similar amount of points in the Bundesliga.

It’s awful to watch. Kovac isn’t known for playing the most attrative football but I don’t think there are many coaches who got do better with this squad. This is entirely on Kehl imo.

  4. And Germany’s performance improved strongly in the following matches due to the changes made that the critics were demanding the whole time.

We are massively overperforming points wise, which is not sustainable. We have the choice to make the necessary changes, just like Löw did after the Algeria game, or continue to pat our own backs like Schalke did after their second place in 17/18 and their following downward spiral.
