  1. Gas lighter in chief. He can no longer gaslight after that. So now he says he is sorry and it is not good enough. Should have said that the thousand times we watched Dan Burn get skinned or Tripps put in clangers after clangers after he nuked his own personal life. Too late Eddie. Time to go.

  2. is anyone actually saying he’s doing a good job rn though? just feels like you are making an argument up to try and vindicate yourself for being a divisive half wit

  3. I don’t think I’ve seen a single person say Howe is doing a good job right now. I’ve seen people give excuses and for the most part I disagree with those excuses but there are other factors at play that are relevant

  4. I always say you take anything Howe says with a fist full of salt, but this is just after he was told that people aren’t happy. All of a sudden he’s gone full 180, from “good moments” in the last post-match presser, to “I’m not doing my job well enough” in this one.

He’s just saying what he thinks people want to hear.

Training for everyone at 6am tomorrow is what I want to hear after a performance like that

  6. All this happy clapper/bed wetter bollocks is more tedious than watching us lose to Brentford.

  7. I think there’s two very simple questions. Do you think Eddie’s four seasons in charge, two CL qualifications, two cup finals and our first domestic trophy since 1955, entitles him to a write off of a season?

If the answer is yes, the second question is do you trust him with a proper pre-season and with Ross Wilson looking after transfers to bounce back next season and qualify for Europe.

If either answer is no, it’s time for a change. My answers are yes but who knows what PIF think, they’ve been absentee owners so far so it would be out of character for them to step in now.

Shot himself in the foot here when the same players and tactics are used in the next match.

I genuinely do not believe that another manager, in the same circumstances, gets much more out of these players.

Schoolboy defending in the heat of the moment, when yet another player has got around Trippier, is nothing to do with coaching, in my view.

Shocking first-time finishing is also nothing to do with the manager or coaching.

Patterns of play have been weird, riskier, in my view – and Tonali, Woltemade, Wissa, Gordon, Elanga, Murphy have all given away the ball stupidly, and then the opposition are rampant through the middle, behind the midfield that have pressed up to support. That is down to the coach, giving the players too much leeway, too much belief in their ability – when they are playing like crap. He needs to steady the ship and I’m afraid, play doggedly – even worse than we are, make it hard for us to be beaten, until the players show something.

I think the squad is imbalanced, players have massively let the badge down, and I think there are obviously well known mitigating factors.

But right now, I think anybody walking into this would have the same up, but mostly down form.

I think until we have a fit squad with finishers, we cannot compete on multiple fronts.

Every-time we have a promising free-kick, you know nothing is going to happen. Every single time a chance comes in the box, you know it’s not even going to work the keeper.

I do think the only way clubs arrest a slide is by sacking a manager, but I also think this slide is going to happen whoever is at the club, and then next season we’ll sell some of our better players, replace some, and have a better season with fewer comps.

  10. I’m glad to at least see this over “we don’t usually concede those type of goals” and “I don’t know how we conceded 4” – recognizing it is going wrong repeatedly and you’re the one man that can make an impact is the first step… just not sure why it’s taken 25 games for this to sink in though…

Let’s look through it all logically.

Tino a move, Tonali wants a move, Bruno will get poached by Madrid probably. Wissa and elanga will be offskies, Gordon wants a move to the scum and that leaves us with thiaw and wolte.

Amazing, Howe has only just realised the buck stops with him. The summer was his, the results belong to him.
