Antonio Vergara joked in the post-match interview after Genoa-Napoli. The Napoli striker earned the penalty in the 93rd minute (scored by Hojlund) that allowed Conte's team to win the match. The 2003-born player didn't hide his happiness when speaking to DAZN. "As soon as I felt the touch, I said to myself, 'Oh, what a joy!'" (Gianluca DiMarzio)

  1. Such is life with VAR. Do I think it’s ridiculous? Yes. But it’s the game now until they decide that this nonsense isn’t a pen.

  2. If this doesn’t garner a 3 game ban, this league is an absolute joke. Just flat out admitted to diving

Serie A needs tough refereeing for sure. Vergara went down for small touch. That Genoa penalty was also a soft call because that Genoa player intentionally ran into GK’s leg.

Week in and week out we are seeing these type of soft penalties. “Oh!A player unintentionally stepped on opposition players shoe by 1mm and he is in pain. Clear penalty.”Refereeing has been horrible in Serie A in recent years. I believe many Italian and serie A fans will agree with me in this regard even if they don’t want to admit it.

For those who think this isn’t a penalty, what is your opinion on the penalty awarded to Genoa?
