That defensive setup was suicide but fair enough, we at least didn’t completely give up. Liked Angel Gomes and even though he wasn’t even that good I’m already preferring Armstrong to Hwang.

That kinda sums our season up tbh. Didn’t play horrendously, but a few stupid decisions from our players and the game’s just taken from us before we’ve fully grown into it. Said it in the match thread and I’ll say it again: we have talented players, but none of our players have an elite mentality and that’s why we are where we are

Those penalties made me furious. It was like watching a fixed game. They only make a go of it when the game is all but over. No other team offers opportunities like Wolves. Idiotic. Moronic. Fraudulent.

Was a bit confused with the three striker lineup, but ig it makes sense if hwang is back on the wings and Armstrong acts as a cf. tbf the new signings aren’t that bad, and it doesn’t seem like we’ve lost that much in terms of agba and jsl.
Also I think putting krejci in would’ve been better than hwang but honestly probably wouldnt have been much of a difference, maybe just not concede three to one dude

The game was over before a ball had been kicked with that line-up.
In an ideal world, I think we’d all like us to play with a back 4, but I just don’t think we’ve got the players to do so.
Taking that into account, it was possibly the worst collection of defenders Edwards could have picked to play together.
I would much rather us play Mosquera at rb, or Tchatchoua or Lima over Doherty. He can’t play rb, and he never could throughout his entire career. He’s a rwb, or a right-sided cb in a 3. He’s too slow, doesn’t track back anywhere near well enough and his positional and situational awareness is as bad as you’ll see at this level.
Krejci must play every game, he’s our best defender.
Why does Hwang continue to play every game when he offers literally nothing?
We were decent 2nd half once the changes had been made, and I think the side that finished the game could have got a draw out of today, but the game was gone as soon as Doherty gave away that ridiculous penalty after 13mins.
Oh well, only another 13 games to go before we can put this shit-show of a season behind us.
