If you’re down to your third keeper in the middle of a transfer window, it’d be neglectful not to get someone in, it’s not like they’re particularly expensive.
Some of our signings have been so weird. Really does feel like we just sign anyone. Carmo, Cuiabano, Gunn, Bade, Omobamidele, Biancone etc… hardly given a chance and just shipped
TBH I thought the Ortega signing was odd, then it made total sense when Sels went off at half time last week.
Sels clearly isn’t properly over the groin injury that put him out over Xmas and then rushed back with John’s injury. Seems like we signed Ortega just in time.
Gunn looked decent enough last week – although let’s be honest Palace seemed just as happy with a point as we did. But he’s nothing more than a back up keeper and we all know first hand how well playing someone of back up keeper regularly works out when we had Matt Turner in net. Can’t take that risk again.
