Our checkbook is a little tighter than City’s I’m afraid.

We had three windows where we were interested in him and the longer we waited, the more expensive he got. I think the first window Sahin was opposing the deal.

I completely blame sahin who “wasn’t convinced” but honestly the way our team is rn, I can’t even be mad at him for not joining us once city showed interest. We had 2 seasons to get him and he wantes to join us too. It’s just disappointing how good he is and how seamlessly he’s adjusted to the prem. No matter what it’s not an easy league to thrive in, and switching teams always comes with a growing period. But he looks like he’s been on their team for years already. And instantly had a body transformation. We can ONLY blame ourselves for not jumping at the opportunity after 2+ seasons, especially since Lyon was essentially liquidating their assets (players) and we could have gotten him for nothing.

He’s actually become a liability in their system because he’s a ball hog and takes too many dribbles slowing down the potency of their play which is leading to lower xG

Our physios would have had him injured for a year straight by this point
