This is what happens when individual clubs become bigger than the Premier League itself.
You end up in a situation where you’re in an impossible situation and punishing the club actually makes the league look bad.

Problem is now that people with no idea how these things work will just assume they should be deducted everything -10000 points and the rest. Anything less than that they’d they’ll just start crying corruption or something .

Agreed that the delay is embarrassing and the more it was delayed, the more people will point to that City had them cornered. Or perhaps the league authority is trying to play delay game, delay until it was forgotten. Or just giving them time to buy buy then do a transfer ban.

OH FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!! Just fucking pause!
I’ve lost count of how many times i’ve seen people whinging about this shit. Literally there’s actual evil out there like the NFO Greek Owner, but none of you would talk about that shit coz lets face it, they haven’t hurt your goddamn egos and your clubs like Man City probably has over the past decade and a half.
Half of you dimwits dont give a flying FUCK about ethics and morals, but won’t hesitate to start your endless whining about how your innocent little asses were hurt by the “alleged” corruption of Man City. I’m convinced most of you indulging in this are infact either lonely or frustrated because at this point its only serving for one of 2 things – karma farming and(or) validation from strangers.
None of their players were crazy big names over the years – yet they created history with a system that was unbreakable.
It hurts your fragile egos because your club did not hit the lotto. As a result y’all are sad, bitter an absolutely pathetic. Keep whinging about this….none of it is going to change and if y’all think your voice matters at this point then y’all can go fuck yourselves in the face.

-8 points for Everton.

Tainted the entire English football pyramid. The legal minefield of having to deal with clubs arguing that they shouldn’t have been relegated and how they should have been in Europe because city won x cup etc.
Everton have to be punished!

Whats embarrassing is people assuming guilt on these ridiculous manufactured charges, City have invested well and become successful and the establishment don’t like it!

It’s genuinely disheartening to see how this process has eroded any remaining faith in the system. The longer this drags on with no transparency, the more it feels like a calculated strategy to let it fade from memory. At this point, the delay itself is becoming the scandal, proving that financial power can simply outlast the rules. The whole situation just makes a mockery of the competition for everyone else.

There is a rumour conspiracy going around… my colleague said, he heard it.
There will be no punishment, however they won’t win the league or any trophies this year.

It is. They should be docked 10 points in every season they had a breach. Gut their trophy cabinet and make an example.

But-but-but… they need to win the Premier League to SAVE football!! Forget that they’re literally the ones killing football, the alternative has a few annoying fans and we can’t have that!!

Really, they should have been suspended from the league until a verdict was reached. I bet they’d have co-operated then!

Exactly. Shambolic especially while many clubs got sanctioned already and City have been untouchables.
2) They have form for this. They already faced UEFA charges, and just got their legal teams to run the clock down until they weren’t enforceable.
Manchester City are the worst example of what happens when big business gets involved in sport. They have behaved appallingly, and have done serious and irreparable damage to the game, imo.
And still they roll on, with a team built on questionable processes at best, and nobody bats an eyelid.
I don’t hold out any hope of this being put right at all, let alone soon. I’m sure they’re just relying on our apathy and very short memories.

Yea no shit. What else is new? Can we just move on from this because it’s pissing me off it’s taken this long and the more it gets mentioned the more stupid our league looks.

In Everton’s case we got docked points because we’d included loan interest in our FFP calculations, which are allowable by HMRC against Corporation Tax but not allowable for FFP regulations.
Man City are out there selling assets to related companies for inflated fees and selling naming rights for 10x the market value to related companies.
Tying themselves in knots trying to avoid sanctions on the big teams.
Embarrassing.

A couple of points:
1) it’s not 115 charges, it’s nearer to 130. [That number was a classification error.](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/manchester-city-charges-premier-league-35033504)
