Eddie Howe on the social media backlash to recent results: “I’m pleased I’m not on social media if it’s heated. My message is that we’re fighting and I think you can see that on the pitch. I can assure you the players are maxed out physically, mentally, we’re all trying for success.
Sell willock in the summer and buy an attacking midfielder, and maybe think of a formation for woltemade to succeed

The blokes asking him questions are also on social media though, criticising players like Woltemade for no reason.

“you can see that on the pitch”, that’s the problem Eddie, we really can’t!

Howe has his faults. However, he is a good bloke and I don’t think we can attract better. He has the work ethics, the ability to develope players and has club spirit. We can think about another when Pep is knocking on our door. However, even he has his troubles.

I’m never doubting Eddie’s effort even if I’d question his tactics.

Footballs brutal when it’s not going your way. Everyone starts talking shite about you with journalists constantly poking the fire.

So the players are giving the maximum but we’re not winning, some explain to me what to make from this?

I do wonder how we have to wait till players are ‘maxed out’ before rotating or changing though. Was the same 2 seasons ago and we haven’t learnt any lessons from it. That’s my issue. We don’t look at early stage in the domestic cups as well fully rotate and if we get through then we will make the tough decisions. It seems to be go for all 4 and hope we don’t get injuries.

The match the other night at the Etihad…….I’m a City fan by the way, live in Newcastle now
Put the aggregate score aside. I was more concerned about you coming back into the match when Osula was on the pitch than either Wissa or Woltamade. Osula looks to have more potential to me, better movement and more determined.
Maybe time to give him a few games

We have bigger problems within the club. We dont know where we are going and what the PIF plans are. They say we are going to win the league etc. But our directors, ceo’s etc are leaving after a short while, new stadium is nowhere closer than it was before the takeover, our facilities are old. We cant spend on players so imo we really need some statements from PIF in some kind of super stadium or something like that. 200M training facility are what we are looking for, also a new stadium. It feels like we are in a vacuume and doesnt really know what PIF wants with the club. Their investment has been small in their meassurement..

We just have to find a system to get the best out of the players and most crucially the forwards. we had that with Isak and we don’t have that now.
The stat where we pick up so few points when we go behind means we have to be scoring first I’d bet we were much better at that last year.

We are actually where we should be for the squad we have. We are a top 8 team and we are stretched with the added champs league games. Isak was a huge loss and that transfer saga caused a lot of unrest within the team. We have overachieved the last few years and people now think that we are underachieving because of it. Eddie hasn’t been able to get the players he wants because City,Liverpool,Chelsea,Man u have all targeted the same players and are a bigger attraction and offer much higher wages due to psr hindering us. For those who moan about Woltemade he’s had 21 games in prem 7 goals 2 assists. Isak first season was 22 prem games 10 goals 2 assists. Yes we need to supply Woltemade better as he has a different play style but his numbers are not bad. Some of our performances have been poor and the team overall are less aggressive and the work rate has dropped because Eddie knows we can’t sustain it with the extra games and the injuries and fatigue that comes with it, we also have new players still trying to gel with each other. The fixture calendar has also not been great for us which is unfortunate. Hopefully the boardroom level management can finally be settled going forward and provide more stability. People forget where we were when Eddie took over and the complications he’s had with upper management as well as a few of the players. Don’t think any other manager we could get would do any better than him.
