I do not understand why fans worry about huge fees, especially for young talent. If your club is buying you get the player and it's not your money. If your club is selling they can reinvest and build out scouting and player development to replace them 10 times over.
Point is, if the money is there to pay the huge fees, then redistribution to less wealthy clubs builds the game globally. What should concern us more is when the money is there and owners are unwilling to spend it.
Now, speaking specifically about Chelsea, do people not think he earmarked this amount to spend when he bought the club?
