Forest crest design competition 1973

Found this and thought it was interesting — Nottingham Evening Post from
1973, announcing the winner of the competition to design the new Forest crest, along with runners up.

I had read that the design was refined to its current version before being used on a shirt but not sure I had seen the original before. Also interesting to see the runners up and how things might had been different (though obviously the best design won).
