Just a short compilation of his best and most dangerous crosses this season. Didn't include any chances created through other means. A lot of variety including whipped, floated, and driven crosses with both feet. Some of the blocked crosses (e.g. Leeds) are due to incredible defensive stops, but on the stat sheet it would just show as an inaccurate cross. I think he's the second best crosser in the team (Murphy #1) and one of the better crossers in the league.
I can't believe he has only 2 assists this season.

Not a Newcastle fan but Barnes is my favourite player so I always watch. Makes me sad to see him in an unfamiliar role for much of the season. When you visualize it, the difference is so obvious. He has so much more freedom at LW and you can see his attacking events (shots, dribbles, shot assists, duels) are more spread out. When he plays as a RW, he’s basically a touchline winger and it takes away from his skill set.

He’s clearly our best option on the left for me. And I will say look how many times it’s Gordon getting on the end of them or trying to. Look how many times Hall goes beyond him to open the space…
I think all round Gordon is a better player than Barnes. I think he’s more tactically aware and technically gifted in tight spaces. But on the left wing, especially with his partnership with Hall, Barnes is clearly the better option for us.
But I can’t believe the only way we have to get them both in the same side is punting Barnes on the right. Gordon looks so much better through the middle for me. Put him and Woltemade together in the middle. Put Barnes on the left. Get Elanga or Murphy on the right and I think we’d look far more threatening.
I think if we want a traditional winger on the right, that’s how you get the most out of Barnes, Gordon and Woltemade, along with whoever starts on the right… At the same time. Whereas now we only seem to get the most out of one of them, at most, in any given game.
