Sorry for the kinda clickbait title, just thought I’d share something pretty interesting.
As many of you will know, the US Government released millions of documents about Jeffrey Epstein on Friday.
I read on Twitter that ex-Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, was mentioned in the files multiple times. It made me wonder whether other Football Club owners (usually prominent international businessmen) might have had business with Epstein.
The files are publicly available on the DOJ website, and I searched the names of our current owners, Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, in the files. Fortunately, neither of their names show up.
However one thing I did notice is that our former owner, Randy Lerner, did show up in one file.
It seems he bought a helicopter from Epstein in 2012, for $12.7m whilst Villa owner. Obviously nothing bad, and I’m not in any way saying Randy Lerner is involved in any wrongdoing.
But I do find it mildly funny that there exists a scenario where Randy Lerner went from buying a helicopter off Epstein one day, to then having to deal with Alex McLeish about Villa the next.

Aside from being a massive nonce, he was a powerful businessman with connections everywhere, I think some of the names appearing aren’t sinister and just business, I hope so anyway
Lerner, God I despise that man.
If there’s an Eiffel tower size pile of stuff and the only mention is you bought something off him from a billionaire version of facebook market place, you are probably fine.
