      Harrys never let him down in a back 5 and 2 holding midfielders. Ole Southgate is a joke too. Hes had all his luck in the last 2 tournaments. Reality is kicking in now.

      Its ridiculous mention those 2 semifinals. Loooook at the way to those semifinals, all matches expected to win. Maybe beside Germany last year but that team is in a crisis so I dont think England under Southgate have done anything special and the team is unbelievable boring watch

      is he cannot READ the game the Euro final was a classic example Italy made two substitutions and EVERYBODY could see it was a matter of time before they scored EXCEPT for Southgate

      Pochettino for Southgate after the WC, if England exit ignominiously? Is there an English coach who would be better? Difficult to think of one.

      I think the Gareth may just be very aware of the limitations of this generation of England players. Especially across the defense. He employs a defensive system because he knows if they attempt to play any form of expansive football they will be picked apart by any decent side. Southgate lives in hope of snachting a one nil in every game.

      I want England to Have a good Tournament. Southgate needs to step down he's done well but he's Not Elite That why we didn't win the euros. He's done well but now he's becoming very arrogant and ignorant. The Mcguire situation he's becoming hypocritical showing favourites they were awful last night against a bad Italy team I've seen enough. He won't pick players like Maddison n Marcus Edwards why because there too attacking he dont like there attitudes well Gazza was no angel didn't bother Venebles

      No one is slating GS as such- just telling it how it is. GS is a dead man walking now. In Qatar, we MUST play our flair players and the players that scare other teams- TRent, Grealish, Foden, Toney , Kane to name 5. Then bow out of the job Gareth- go gracefully. Youve had a great run.

      The most boring football team I can recall. I stopped watching england after the euros…its just like watching chess…in fact more happens in chess. Boring boring boring …south gate is a robot .

      I feel like the way we have setup is to help maguire. What other reason do we have for playing 2 holding mids and 3 central defenders?

      Take maguire out and then you can go 2 at the back with a single pivot in midfield.

      Remember when allll these pundits werr saying Rice was a 100m player. Even when he was just solid in midfield.he created no chances, no goals, no assist. Now that England and West ham are poor where are those pundits?

      Should have gone after the Euro Final, had Italy on the ropes, retreated into our shell, allowed Italy back into the game, they gained in confidence and Southgate had no answers

      Why does quality matter Ray? You can have all the quality in the world but if you don't apply it and show it when needed then it's worth nothing. Hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work hard someone said.

      I agree with Alan Brazil: "I think people still have a question mark over Gareth because he's not adventurous enough with the squad he has. I think that's the problem. Result wise, you know, he's done alright. More than alright. It's the style in which he's done it. [That's where] the jury's out." But I would also add that 2 draws and 3 losses in the UEFA Nations League, (since Euro 2020), no longer guarantees Southgate a free pass. To lose – and lose boringly – is a recipe for the sack.

      Every time there's a major tournament people ALWAYS say that England have a chance to win the trophy, but yet they never do anything.. England won't anything in this tournament, i wouldn't be surprised if they didn't make it out the groups lool 😂🤣🙄

      Well when Philips and Rice are playing as your entire midfield you do.
      They mugged off Kroos and Modric etc.
      Your problem is that your central defence is muck.

      “He was a defender so he places defensively” what a load of rubbish. Klopp was a defender, Pep was a defensive midfielder…so that puts that stupid theory to bed.

      He clearly doesn't remember the last time England played USA in a football tournament… We barely scraped a win with a Defoe goal.

      Teams like USA, Wales, Ireland, Scotland, Iran, Hungary etc would love Nothing more than to stick it to England football team.
      Don't expect a pushover group stage of games.
      In fact, prepare for a shock loss or draw to USA.

      England really aren't that good, especially this team. They definitely aren't better than the golden generation. Good players in every position but they failed time and again to recruit a good enough attack minded manager.
      Why are clean sheets so bloody important in national tournament football??🤷🏿‍♂️
