Excellent news
England almost got 6/8 in the top 8 of the CL. Crazy stuff, Newcastle only a point off. England absolutely dominating so far in Europe.
Marseille and Nice are out for France btw.
Such good news for Man United, Liverpool and Chelsea.
as a proponent of premier league football (basically only follow prem, championship, and the european tournmaments like the champions league and europa league) im very happy about this even if i think it wont impact villa (winning the league hehe)
I think I’m definitely in the minority that this isn’t a great thing. So I think there possibly needs to be a rule change to shake things up.
Something like:
If you haven’t qualified as champions of your league, or if you have qualified for the champions league for three years, but haven’t won it, you will qualify only for the Europa League instead. Your place will be allocated by your league in accordance to their rules.
I’m just annoyed that perennial runners up keep getting a run at it and preventing clubs deserving of the chance to give it a go. It’ll stop the competition being referred to as (not really) Champions League as well.
It’ll be unpopular for the sky 6 though
