Leicester City defender Wout Faes had a nightmarish performance on Friday, scoring two devastating own goals in the first half that ultimately sealed the team’s fate against Liverpool.

The Reds managed to come from behind to secure a 2-1 victory at Anfield, thanks to Faes’ blunders.

These embarrassing bloopers are an extremely rare occurrence in the Premier League, with only three other players have achieved the feat: Jamie Carragher (1999), Michael Proctor (2003), and Jon Walters (2013).

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez was also left feeling dejected after a string of missed opportunities to score.

The Uruguayan striker took 13 shots in the Premier League in December, the most of any player since the return on Boxing Day, but was unable to find the back of the net.

Despite creating several promising chances, Nunez could not convert and will no doubt be ruing his missed opportunities.

Overall, it was a disappointing evening for Faes and Nunez, as Liverpool extended their winning streak to four league games and moved just two points behind fourth-placed Tottenham.
